$16.4 billion investment push
Indian firms are significantly expanding their footprint in the United States, with cumulative investments now reaching approximately $16.4 billion, supporting more than 70,000 American jobs across sectors including pharmaceuticals, technology, manufacturing, and energy. The development was highlighted during the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Maryland this week.
US officials described Indian investment momentum as one of the strongest recent foreign investment trends into America. Indian firms are also increasing research spending and supply-chain partnerships across multiple US states.
This is a major diaspora-economic success story because it shows Indian-origin capital creating jobs globally rather than only sending remittances back home.
