Bihar’s Revenue Minister assured support for Non-Resident Biharis and stronger engagement with the global diaspora
Bihar’s Revenue and Land Reforms Minister, Dr Dilip Kumar Jayswal, has assured migrant Biharis of full government support in addressing land-related issues in the state, emphasising the administration’s commitment to resolving concerns faced by those living outside Bihar.
The assurance came during a meeting with Amit Kumar Singh, Chief Coordinator of Pravasi Samwad, where discussions focused on land reforms and challenges faced by members of the Bihar diaspora.
Dr Jayswal said he would work with complete dedication to support Non-Resident Biharis (NRBs) in his capacity as minister. He also expressed readiness to engage directly with members of the diaspora to ensure their land-related grievances receive prompt attention.

During his visit, Amit Kumar Singh also met Jai Singh, Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, to discuss issues affecting members of the diaspora. According to Singh, the secretary assured that land disputes involving Non-Resident Biharis would be addressed on a priority basis.
The discussions also touched on broader collaboration between Bihar and its global diaspora. Singh presented the minister with a special publication highlighting recipients of the 2025 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards, which recognise outstanding contributions made by members of the Indian diaspora worldwide.
Speaking after the meetings, Singh said the Bihar government sees significant potential in working closely with the global Bihar community, particularly in strengthening educational infrastructure and expanding learning opportunities for future generations.
The outreach reflects the state’s efforts to deepen engagement with its overseas and out-of-state residents while addressing long-standing concerns related to land administration and reform.
