State government aims to strengthen engagement with overseas Telugus while promoting investment and tourism
The Telangana government has announced plans to establish an NRI Bhavan in Hyderabad at an estimated cost of ₹10 crore as part of its efforts to deepen ties with the global Telugu diaspora and encourage greater participation in the state’s tourism and development initiatives.
The proposed facility is intended to serve as a dedicated hub for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), providing a platform for interaction, networking and engagement with government departments. Officials believe the centre will help overseas Telugus stay connected with their home state while also facilitating investment opportunities, cultural exchanges and tourism promotion.

Officials believe stronger engagement with NRIs could help attract more international visitors, encourage business partnerships and enhance the state’s global profile.
The planned NRI Bhavan is also expected to function as a support centre for overseas Telugus visiting the state, offering assistance and serving as a venue for community events, business meetings and official interactions.
The initiative reflects Telangana’s broader strategy of strengthening relationships with its overseas community while leveraging diaspora networks to promote economic growth, tourism and cultural exchanges.
