MoS Singh Hails Indian Businesses’ Role in Deepening India-Saudi Ties

Minister of State for External Affairs highlights opportunities in trade, investment, tourism and technology during Riyadh visit

India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh has praised the contribution of Indian business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and professionals in strengthening economic ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

Singh made the remarks during his first official visit to Saudi Arabia, which concluded on September 8. At a business interaction organised by the Embassy of India in Riyadh, he discussed opportunities for expanding commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The minister highlighted the potential for greater partnerships in trade, investment, tourism and technology. He also stressed the importance of developing stronger business and technology networks to support closer economic ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

  • Singh also met senior Saudi officials during the four-day visit, including Human Resources and Social Development Minister Ahmad bin Sulaiman Alrajhi
  • Their discussions covered labour and manpower cooperation, skill development and the welfare of Indian workers in the Kingdom

In talks with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir, Singh discussed bilateral relations, regional and global issues, as well as climate-related matters. He also met Environment, Water and Agriculture Vice Minister Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti to explore cooperation on environmental protection and sustainability.

The minister interacted with members of the Indian community and workers, recognising their contribution to India-Saudi relations. He also visited an Alfanar labour camp in Riyadh and reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of Indian workers overseas.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation in labour, skills, environment, climate change and international affairs, while reinforcing the broader strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia.
