The September 26 event in Cerritos will promote fitness, community participation and India’s development vision
The Indian diaspora and friends of India across Southern California are set to gather for the Viksit Bharat Run 2026 on September 26, as organisers seek to strengthen community ties and highlight the vision of a developed India.
The event is being organised by the United Indian American Associations of Southern California (UIASC) in association with the Consulate General of India in Los Angeles.
The run will take place at Don Knabe Community Regional Park, 19700 Bloomfield Avenue, Cerritos, California. Registration and check-in will begin at 8am, with the run scheduled to start at 9am.
Organisers have invited members of the Indian-American community, friends of India and other residents from across Southern California to participate. Registration is required, with participants encouraged to sign up through the event’s registration link or by scanning the QR code in the official announcement.

The Los Angeles area previously hosted the run in 2025 at the same park. That event was organised by the Consulate General of India in coordination with MY Bharat, an initiative under India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
According to India-West, the 2025 edition attracted more than 200 participants, including Indian diaspora members, students, professionals, community leaders and friends of India. Companion runs were also held in Irvine and Riverside.
The 2026 event is expected to offer another opportunity for Indian-American organisations and residents to connect through a public fitness gathering and reaffirm their shared interest in India’s development journey.
