Health, cleanliness, fitness, environmental action and blood donation programmes strengthen community ties between India and Oman
The Embassy of India in Muscat organised a series of community-focused activities during Seva Pakhwada 2026, covering preventive healthcare, cleanliness, environmental sustainability, fitness, peace and humanitarian service.

The initiatives began with a health check-up camp on September 20, organised in collaboration with Al Hayat International Hospital under the theme ‘Know Your Heart’. Embassy staff, their families and technical and housekeeping personnel received health assessments and medical consultations. Specialists also held awareness sessions on heart disease, diabetes and stroke prevention, highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyles.

On October 1, the Embassy observed Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 with a cleanliness drive and the administration of the Swachhata Pledge by Ambassador Prashant Pise. Tree saplings were planted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. Embassy Safai Mitras were also felicitated for their contribution to maintaining a clean environment.
The following day, more than 1,000 members of the Indian community and friends of India in Oman participated in a 5-km Viksit Bharat Solidarity Run in Al-Khuwair. Organised as part of the Fit India campaign, the event promoted physical fitness, community participation and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Embassy, in association with Raja Yoga, also hosted a programme marking Mahatma Gandhi’s 157th birth anniversary and the United Nations International Day of Non-Violence. A special session by Sister Gopi Patel, titled ‘The Courage of Peace: Non-Violence in a Fragmented World’, featured an address and guided meditation on peace, compassion and non-violence.
On October 3, the Embassy joined hands with Oman’s Ministry of Health Department of Blood Services, The Seva Muscat and Indian Social Club Oman to organise a blood donation camp. More than 100 donors participated.

Ambassador Pise thanked the Indian community, Embassy personnel and partner organisations for their support, saying collective action remained central to promoting community welfare and strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Oman.
