Relaxation in travel norms by Saudi Arabia is a huge relief for Indian Travellers who are stuck in several Indian cities due to travel ban under Covid-19 rules.

“The return journey is mostly smooth if you are following proper protocols and have taken two doses of Covid-19 vaccine,” said Abdulrahman who travelled to Riyadh from Delhi after the relaxation in travel restrictions.
“Indian nationals who have travelled to India after receiving both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in Saudi Arabia will be able to return to the Kingdom directly without the need for quarantine in a third country,” the Indian Embassy in Sai Arab wrote in a tweet.
It also mentioned that more details are awaited from India’s foreign ministry.
While travelling to KSA foreigners should ensure that they have valid residency permit
Besides India, the countries facing travel ban are allowed direct entry to the fully vaccinated expatriates are Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Lebanon.
While travelling to KSA foreigners should ensure that they have valid residency permit.
Saudi Arabia had suspended all international flights on March 15, 2020 to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus.. The restriction excluded diplomats, Saudi nationals, medical staff, and their families.
On May 17, 2021, the suspension of international flights got lifted but travellers from 20 countries were not allowed to enter Saudi Arab due to the Covid-19 situation in those countries.
The list of 20 banned countries included India, the US, Egypt, Pakistan, Argentina, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal, Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Lebanon, UAE, and Turkey
Travellers from United Arab Emirates, Germany, United States, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, France, and Japan were allowed in Saudi Arab on June 6, 2021
On July 19, 2021, the KSA allowed entry of travellers from nine banned countries after spending two weeks in a third country.
Meanwhile, the Saudi authorities said it would impose a three-year travel ban on citizens in Red List countries including India.
