Thai Embassy resumes visa and consular services from January 31

Indian travellers planning to visit Thailand can now do so with the resumption of visa and consular services from January 31. The service which was temporarily suspended in view of rising Covid-19 cases in Delhi on January 9 has been reviewed by the Embassy and the decision has been taken looking at the present pandemic situation and dipping cases.

In an update, the Thailand Embassy in India informed that applications for visas can be submitted through VFS Global and BLS International. It also said that it can take up to 10 working days to process the visa, hence travellers and visitors should apply well in advance.

The embassy has also released a contact number for those wanting to seek appointment for the same. “In view of the decline in the number of Covid-19 cases in and within the proximity of the NCT of Delhi, visa and consular service at the Royal Thai Embassy will resume from January 31, 2022. Necessary appointments can be sought from +91-9205396169 during official hours,” it stated in the notification.

The Thailand government has also announced the resumption of quarantine-free entry (Test & Go scheme) of travellers in the country effective February 1 under the Sandbox programme. Fully vaccinated travellers from around the world can apply for a TEST & GO Thailand Pass up to 60 days in advance with confirmed payments for accommodation on day one and day five with two RT-PCR tests, and a pre-arranged airport transfer on day one. The Pattaya and Ko Chang Sandbox programme will also reopen.
