Bank Muscat inaugurates new Green Sports fields in Quriyat, Yanqul under its CSR programme

The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Mohammed Salim Al Said and in the presence of Taya Eid Bait Sabeea, Deputy General Manager, Bank Muscat and Ahmed Suleim Al Alawi, Head of Al Shabab Sports Team.

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, recently inaugurated the new Green Sports field for Al Shabab Sports Team in the Wilayat of Yanqul.

The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Mohammed Salim Al Said and in the presence of Taya Eid Bait Sabeea, Deputy General Manager, Bank Muscat and Ahmed Suleim Al Alawi, Head of Al Shabab Sports Team. 

The bank also inaugurated another new Green Sports field for the Al Hajir Sports Team in Quriyat at an event held under auspices of Dr Juma Ali Al Juma, Honorary President of Quriyat Sports Club and attended by Faisal Al Mashani, Regional Manager – Capital East, Bank Muscat, Abdullah Salim Al Wahaibi, Head of Al Hajir Sports Team and a number of team members. 

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Al Shabab Sport Team’s Green Sports field, Taya Eid Bait Sabeea, Deputy General Manager, Bank Muscat,  congratulated the team and expressed his appreciation for completing their project on time. 

He added that the bank’s landmark CSR programme, Green Sports, was continuing to achieve great success in creating sustainable green spaces across the Sultanate. 

Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programmes in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman. 

Taya Bait Sabeea added that the new facility would help the Al Shabab team develop the skills of its team members as well as other sports and cultural entities affiliated to it.  He called on everyone in the community to make the best use of the new facilities, adding that it would greatly add to social bonding and cohesion within the community.

Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the Al Hajir Sports Team’s new field in Quriyat, Faisal Al Mashani, Regional Manager – Capital East, Bank Muscat, said that the new facility would help the team improve its capabilities and talent.

He added that new Green Sports fields were being used by local communities also for a number of social activities. He also pointed out how these new facilities are helping improve community bonding and the harnessing of the talents of Omani youth across the country. 

Faisal Al Mashani hoped that the team would contribute talent at the national level so as to enhance the sporting talent and prowess of Omani sportspersons.

Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programmes in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman. 

The support includes greening of football pitches, water desalination and lighting. The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by local communities, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people as well as the development of talented Omani youth. 

It is a matter of great encouragement that the Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme has so far benefitted 163 teams with over 50,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman. The bank recently also announced the 20 winners of the programme for 2022.
