United Airlines has announced that its new daily year-round nonstop service between Bengaluru and San Francisco will begin from May 28, 2022 (subject to government approval). The new route will be United’s first-ever nonstop service between Bengaluru and the US. The airline has existing services from New Delhi to New York/Newark, Chicago and San Francisco, as well as from Mumbai to New York/Newark. United offers more flights between India and the US than any other US carrier.

The new service from India is part of United’s largest transatlantic expansion in its history announced last week, including 10 new routes and five new destinations – Amman, Jordan; Bergen, Norway; Azores, Portugal; Mallorca, Spain and Tenerife in the Spanish Canary Islands.

“Our new flight strengthens our international route network, provides our customers from India with even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect via our San Francisco hub to other destinations across the Americas.”

— Marcel Fuchs, United’s Managing Director International Sales

All of the new routes, which are set to begin in Spring 2022, are not served by any other North American carrier. Next year, United will add new flights to five popular European destinations – Berlin, Dublin, Milan, Munich and Rome, as well as launch seven routes that were interrupted due to the pandemic from Bengaluru, Frankfurt, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, Nice and Zurich.

Talking about the first-ever service between the two international technology hubs, Bengaluru and San Francisco, Marcel Fuchs, United’s Managing Director International Sales, said, “Our new flight strengthens our international route network, provides our customers from India with even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect via our San Francisco hub to other destinations across the Americas.”
