Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari has reiterated the state government’s commitment to modernise the education system through the development of proposed Model Schools (Adarsh Vidyalay) equipped with advanced facilities and improved infrastructure.

Speaking during a meeting with Amit Kumar Singh, Chief Coordinator of Pravasi Samwad, the minister said the planned schools would feature modern science and computer laboratories, smart classrooms, well-stocked libraries, sports facilities and dedicated amenities for girl students. The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to improve the quality of education across the state.

Tiwari also called on Non-Resident Biharis (NRBs) to play an active role in the transformation of Bihar’s education sector by contributing innovative ideas, expertise and investment. He expressed willingness to engage directly with members of the Bihar diaspora interested in supporting educational development projects in the state.

According to Singh, the minister welcomed the proposal to involve like-minded NRBs in efforts to upgrade Bihar’s education infrastructure and assured them of full government support. “The minister appreciated the idea of involving Non-Resident Biharis in the process of strengthening the state’s education system and assured all possible assistance without any obstacles,” Singh said.

The push for educational reform follows a recent vision outlined by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chowdhary, who advocated for a system in which children from all social and economic backgrounds, including those of ministers and economically weaker families, study together. The proposal is aimed at promoting equality and improving standards in government education.

During the meeting, Singh also presented the minister with a special publication highlighting recipients of the 2025 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards, recognising the achievements and contributions of the Indian diaspora worldwide.

The state government expects collaboration with the global Bihar community to play a significant role in strengthening educational infrastructure and expanding learning opportunities for future generations.
