The Desert Stories First Annual Business Awards 2022 presented in six categories

Renowned singer from India Mohammed Vakil was honoured with ‘Pride of India’

Entrepreneurs, business houses and hotels were recognized for their services at the recently concluded award ceremony at Al Bustan Palace’s Ritz Carlton Hotel. The awards were presented by The Desert Stories at its first annual Business Awards 2022.

The awards were presented in six categories, while renowned singer from India Mohammed Vakil was honoured with ‘Pride of India’ award at the ceremony, graced by His Highness Sayyed Mohammed bin Salim bin Ali al Said as Chief Guest and Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman as Guest of Honour.

Mohammed Vakil is the Saregama Mega Final winner and playback singer of film Veer Zara.

Farique A Tareen, Chief Executive of National Trading & Projects and Yusuf Nalwala, Chairman Al Yusr International, got the award under the Trading and Projects category, while Firoz Jariwala, Chairman Vanguard engineering and Oil Field Services was awarded under the Service Provider category.

 Other awardees included, Eng Nasser al Masaihly, CEO Island Bridge Company (Construction and Infrastructure category); Muslim Mehmood, CEO Al Hashar Tourism & Travels (Tourism and Travels); Farozan Imam, CEO & Managing Director Global Shipping Routes (Logistics); Talal al Hashmi, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz Carlton Hotel and Ibrahim Shaikh, General Manager of Wanasa group of Hotels (Hotel of Oman).

Behram Khan, Chairman and Board of Directors of The Desert Stories, welcomed the guests.  

Desert Stories announced to launch of a business publication in 2024 which will focus on SMEs and startups to boost Oman’s economic growth.
