The business-to-business mart was relevant in the current circumstances
Domestic tourism will be main driver of tourism industry as it will take time for international tourists to come to India, said Gaj Singh, President Emeritus, Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA).
Speaking at the promotional roadshow of Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM), 2022, which is set to be held next month, Singh, a former royal, said that the business-to-business mart was relevant in the current circumstances, reported TNN.
“It is not the sole responsibility of the government alone to promote the state. As members of the travel and tourism industry, each one has a significant role to play in this area because public-private partnerships are the way to revive the industry.”
— Apurv Kumar, President of FHTR
The mart is organised by the department of tourism and the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism in Rajasthan (FHTR). Apurv Kumar, President of FHTR, said that tourism, one of the largest industries of Rajasthan, had dipped more than 70 per cent in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Post-pandemic, as the world returns to normal, there was a need to promote Rajasthan and revive tourism.
“It is not the sole responsibility of the government alone to promote the state. As members of the travel and tourism industry, each one has a significant role to play in this area because public-private partnerships are the way to revive the industry,” said Kumar.
