Dubai announces five-year multiple entry visa

Dubai has introduced a five-year visa for employees of international companies based in the emirate. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council announced the move and said the policy was part of efforts to make Dubai the best city to work and live in the world. “Our goal is to support their operations, provide corporate teams ease-of-access to the city and enable them to participate in events, conferences, and exhibitions,” he said.

The new visa is a joint initiative between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs in Dubai and the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai. It allows multiple entry access to holders with a validity of 5 years, where the visa holders can visit and stay in the UAE for 90 days, with the option of extending their stay for another 90 days.

Also, Dubai International Airport announced that it would start operating at full capacity from next week

 

The five-year multi-entry-visa joins other new categories of visas and programmes launched by Dubai including the Golden Visa for entrepreneurs and property and business investors, as well as the Retire in Dubai and Virtual Working programmes.

Results of ease in travel restrictions in key global markets which is generating renewed confidence in the prospects of international travel,” commented Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports.

According to Dubai Tourism, the city received around 3.85 million international visitors between January and September 2021. “There are 726 hotel establishments with a total of 123,868 rooms that are open in Dubai, with the overall 61 per cent occupancy being among the highest worldwide,” it said.
