The permanent residency applications of 96,378 Indians are lying with the Government of Canada, under process. There are applications for temporary residency visas of 4,30,286. Apart from this, a total of 9,56,950 applications from different categories were pending with the Government of Canada as of March 31, 2022. Canada has a total of 2.5 million applications pending from around the world.
The number of such cases caught by the Canadian High Commission in a year is more than 2,500. Similar cases have also been caught by New Zealand, UK, and US embassies. Canada’s visa rejection rate has reached 41%. Before Covid, it was 15%, reported timesnownews.com

In 2020-21, Australia’s Department of Home Affairs caught more than 600 cases related to Punjab and Haryana in which forged documents were used to obtain education visas to Australia.
