Germany has launched a new initiative aimed at helping Indian startups expand into Europe, with Berlin being positioned as a key entry point for businesses looking to grow internationally, reported the-european.eu.

The new programme, called INDIA DESK Germany, will provide Indian companies with office space, business support and access to labs and prototyping facilities in Berlin. The initiative is designed to make it easier for startups to establish operations in Germany and connect with European markets.

The project is being led by the German Indian Innovation Corridor (GIIC), which works to strengthen trade and innovation ties between India and Germany, in partnership with NLND Berlin, an innovation district focused on industrial development and technology

Berlin Partner, the city’s official business development agency, is also supporting the scheme. It will assist companies with relocation, hiring talent and securing funding opportunities.

The launch event in Berlin was attended by representatives from government, industry and business networks from both countries. Speakers included India’s Deputy Chief of Mission Abhishek Dubey, Berlin Mayor and Economics Senator Franziska Giffey, and Jochen Neumeyer from Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.

Siddharth Bhasin, Managing Director of GIIC, said the initiative aims to become a long-term platform for business and innovation cooperation between India and Germany. He added that the goal is to make Berlin the first choice for Indian companies entering Germany and for German firms looking to work with India’s growing startup ecosystem.
