As the sacred city of Ayodhya readies itself for the revered Chaurasi kosi yatra spanning 250 kilometers, a diverse group of non-resident Indians (NRIs) hailing from 30 different nations converged upon the historic temple town on April 22, seeking the divine blessings of Ram Lalla. This spiritual journey, set to commence from April 24 and continue until May 14, draws devotees from far and wide, embodying a tapestry of cultures and beliefs.
Reported by timesofindia.indiatimes.com, the gathering of 90 NRIs, accompanied by their families, embarked on a soul-stirring visit to the iconic temple, engaging in prayers and reverence within its hallowed precincts. Guiding the NRIs through their spiritual journey was Vijay Jolly, BJP convener of overseas affairs and former MLA from Delhi, whose leadership infused the visit with a sense of purpose and unity. Accompanying them were esteemed figures such as RSS sampark pramukh Ram Lal and senior VHP functionary Dinesh Chandra, underscoring the collective reverence for the divine.
Welcoming the visitors with traditional warmth and hospitality was Champat Rai, the general secretary of the temple trust, who adorned them with chandan tilak and presented them with Ram Navami scarfs as tokens of blessing and goodwill. The itinerary of their pilgrimage extended beyond the temple, encompassing sacred sites like Hanuman Garhi and Saryu ghats, where they partook in the evening aarti and puja ceremonies, immersing themselves in the spiritual essence of Ayodhya.
Simultaneously, the Ayodhya administration commenced preparations for the elaborate paidal yatra, a foot pilgrimage spanning approximately 263 kilometers. Rooted in Hindu tradition, this 21-day pad yatra, conducted during the Chaitra month, symbolizes the journey through the 84 lakh species that the soul traverses after death, embodying the spiritual evolution and eternal cycle of life.
