The UAE government’s amnesty program, running until October 30th, provides a significant opportunity for Indian nationals overstaying in the UAE to regularize their status or return to India. In line with this initiative, the Indian Consulate in the UAE has outlined several steps to assist these individuals in navigating the process smoothly. Those wishing to return to India can obtain Emergency Certificates (ECs) for free at facilitation counters set up in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

How to Collect Your Emergency Certificate in Dubai

Starting from September 2nd, Indian nationals in Dubai can collect their ECs from the Indian Consulate, located in Umm Hurair 1. The certificates are available for collection between 2 pm and 4 pm. It’s important to note that ECs will only be available 24 hours after submitting an Amnesty Visa application.

By offering free Emergency Certificates and making the process for regularizing residency status straightforward, the Indian Consulate and Embassy ensure that their nationals have the necessary resources and support to either return home or stay legally in the UAE.

For those seeking to regularize their residency status, short-validity passports can be obtained at BLS Centers in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. These centers accommodate walk-in applicants without the need for prior appointments and are open every Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm during the amnesty period.

The Indian consulate has also set up a dedicated helpline at 050-9433111, which operates from 8 am to 6 pm to provide support and answer any queries. Additionally, the PBSK Helpline (800-46342) is available 24/7, ensuring that assistance is always accessible.

Emergency Certificate Collection in Abu Dhabi

For Indian nationals in Abu Dhabi, the Indian Embassy will issue ECs at the Consular Office, located on the first floor of Guardian Tower in the Al Saadah Zone. The collection time is between 4 pm and 6 pm, and as in Dubai, the certificates will be ready 24 hours after the submission of the Amnesty Visa application.

Expats looking to regularize their residency can apply for short-validity passports at BLS centers in Abu Dhabi. During the amnesty period, the BLS centers in Al Reem, Musaffah, and Al Ain will accept walk-ins every Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.

For any questions or further information, the embassy has provided a helpline at 050-8995583, available from 9 am to 6 pm daily.
