The festival, celebrated at the iconic Purana Quila, emphasized cultural diplomacy through music, reinforcing India’s commitment to fostering regional camaraderie and mutual appreciation
The 3rd ASEAN-India Music Festival, a celebration of cultural harmony, concluded on December 1, 2024, at the historic Purana Quila in New Delhi. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) organized the event in collaboration with Seher, showcasing the vibrant cultural exchanges between India and ASEAN nations.
The music festival symbolized the enduring civilizational bonds and flourishing people-to-people connections between India and ASEAN nations
Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs, inaugurated the festival in the presence of ambassadors and high commissioners from ASEAN member states. The three-day extravaganza featured performances by ten bands from ASEAN countries and five Indian bands, captivating an audience of over 15,000 with their spellbinding music.
This year marks a decade of India’s ‘Act East Policy,’ which prioritizes strengthening ties with Southeast Asia. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced a series of people-centric initiatives, including this festival, during the 21st ASEAN-India Summit held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on October 10, 2024.
