Industry experts suggest that India’s next decade of digital growth will be powered by collaborative partnerships between GCCs, service providers, and headquarters
India has solidified its position as the preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with nearly 70% of new setups in Asia selecting the country, according to a recent Nasscom report.
The report highlights India’s transformation from a low-cost outsourcing hub to a strategic global innovation base. The nation now hosts more than 1,760 GCCs, employing over 1.9 million professionals and supporting the digital frameworks of nearly half the world’s top 500 corporations.
Nasscom’s findings indicate a growing trend of Indian GCCs driving innovation pipelines and contributing directly to profit and loss outcomes. The report identifies five foundational pillars for next-generation GCCs: shared enterprise vision, operational excellence, resilient governance, magnetic talent, and technology-led innovation.
As AI, automation, and analytics redefine global operations, India’s adaptable talent pool is expected to anchor this evolution
Emerging models such as Build-Operate-Transfer, joint ventures, and co-innovation partnerships are reshaping how multinational companies establish operations. India’s deep-tech ecosystem, design-thinking culture, and mature service-provider network have positioned it as a global transformation hub.
