India is on the cusp of a transformative moment as it welcomes the world through the grand entrance of the India International Convention Centre (IICC) in Dwarka, known as YashoBhoomi. This monumental endeavor, sprawling across a vast 225 acres and encompassing an impressive 1,22,00,000 square feet of built-up area, signifies a monumental leap in architectural innovation, sustainability, and seamless urban integration.

Nestled in the heart of Dwarka, New Delhi, IICC stands as India’s largest convention and exhibition center, offering a multi-purpose tourism experience replete with prime location, accessible transportation options, and a spectrum of commercial amenities.

Despite India’s sustained economic growth, the exhibition industry has struggled to keep pace with the burgeoning urban development in the capital city. Recognizing the need for a dynamic space that not only fuels economic activities but also showcases India’s prowess on the global stage, the India International Convention Centre has emerged as a smart and efficient mixed-use urban development. This visionary undertaking pays homage to India’s rich cultural heritage while embracing the nation’s forward-looking aspirations, bringing together diverse elements such as exhibitions, conventions, retail spaces, hospitality, offices, and museums to cater to both domestic and international exhibitors.

Conceived as a Central Business District (CBD), the architectural design harmoniously blends Indian traditions with contemporary ambitions. Multiple access points seamlessly connect the project with its urban surroundings, fostering integration.

  • This visionary endeavor propels India to the forefront of sustainable design practices, epitomizing innovation and engineering excellence. It emerges as a microcosmic cityscape, flourishing as an urban oasis teeming with biodiversity in the heart of the city

  • The first phase of this groundbreaking project officially opened its doors on September 17, 2023, heralding a new era of global prominence for India

Dikshu Kukreja, the Managing Principal of CP Kukreja Architects and the visionary behind this iconic project, remarked, “The architecture and design of IICC, or YashoBhoomi, epitomize innovation and sustainability, showcasing India’s design prowess on the international stage like never before. As an unprecedented urban-scale Mixed-Use development and state-of-the-art Convention Centre, IICC now stands as the international benchmark, firmly placing India on the global map.”

This monumental Convention Centre, one of the largest in the world, boasts the capability to host a staggering 10,000 attendees simultaneously. Asia’s second-largest and the world’s third-largest Convention Centre, its groundbreaking Indoor Arena, featuring a retractable roof, is India’s first 20,000-seater indoor arena, set to become a world-class venue for a myriad of events. Crucially, the project aligns with Green building principles and aims for the prestigious IGBC Platinum rating, setting remarkable new standards in sustainability.

Strategically positioned adjacent to the International Airport and at the nexus of Gurgaon and Delhi, the project morphs into a significant Transportation Hub, amplifying public connectivity. Government initiatives envision this colossal urban venture as a catalyst for industrial growth in India and a global Mecca for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

Crowning the Convention Centre is what promises to be the world’s largest LED Video Wall, meticulously engineered for this iconic project. The Exhibition Hall, a marvel in its own right, houses a 4,200-seater auditorium with retractable seats and a versatile stage area, transforming it into a multipurpose space. Sustainability is at the core of the design, with emphasis on waste recycling, efficient waste management, and extensive use of solar energy.

The project seamlessly melds traditional elements such as jaalis, stepped wells, and lotus motifs with contemporary design, culminating in an architectural masterpiece. Walkability, verdant boulevards, and captivating water features take center stage in the landscape design, fostering user interaction and enhancing the micro-climate.

This visionary endeavor propels India to the forefront of sustainable design practices, epitomizing innovation and engineering excellence. It emerges as a microcosmic cityscape, flourishing as an urban oasis teeming with biodiversity in the heart of the city. The first phase of this groundbreaking project officially opened its doors on September 17, 2023, heralding a new era of global prominence for India.
