India Secures 8th Place at WorldSkills Asia 2025, Showcasing Rising Talent

India’s strong results signal momentum as the country invests heavily in vocational training, industry-aligned programs, and international exposure

India achieved an impressive 8th-place finish at the WorldSkills Asia Competition 2025 held in Taipei, marking a strong debut among 29 participating countries. The three-day event, held from November 27 to 29, brought together hundreds of young competitors demonstrating advanced technical and vocational skills across 44 categories.

Led by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the Indian contingent included 23 competitors trained in collaboration with NSDC and several technical partners. India earned one silver medal, two bronze medals, and three Medallions for Excellence—achievements that reflect the country’s growing focus on skill development and global competitiveness.

The performance also highlights how Indian youth are emerging as credible competitors in advanced fields such as robotics, digital design, and engineering

Muskan secured silver in Painting & Decorating, while Komal Panda won bronze in Industrial Design Technology. A team effort by Shivam Singh and Dinesh R earned India a bronze in Robot System Integration. Medallions for Excellence were awarded to Mohamed Mafaz P.R. (Software Business Applications), Aditya Nandan (Web Technologies), and Dhanush M.G. (Electrical Installations).

Minister Jayant Chaudhary praised the team, calling the performance a testament to the “discipline, creativity, and confidence” of India’s youth. He noted that skills represent more than employability—they are instruments of national progress. He credited participants, trainers, and institutions for strengthening India’s position in the global skills ecosystem.

WorldSkills Asia 2025 hosted over 500 competitors from 29 nations, offering a platform to celebrate innovation and showcase future-ready capabilities. The event also encouraged collaboration across countries in education, tourism, and technical exchange.
