Indian climber Baljeet Kaur scales two 8,000m peaks in Nepal in two weeks

Baljeet Kaur from Himachal Pradesh conquered Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m) on Thursday, May 12, morning.

A 27-year-old Indian woman on Thursday set a record for conquering two mountain peaks in Nepal above 8,000 metres within two weeks, a report in The Tribune, Chandigarh, says.

Baljeet Kaur from Himachal Pradesh conquered Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m) on Thursday morning at 4:20 (local time), said Pasang Sherpa, director of Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd.

“After successfully scaling the mountain peak she has arrived at Camp III and is now descending towards the base camp,” said Sherpa.

Earlier, she had climbed Mt. Annapurna I (8,091m) on April 28. This is her second 8,000m plus mountain this season, according to Sherpa.

“Now she is preparing to attempt the world’s highest peak, Everest and Lhotse (8,516m) soon,” he said.

In a a tweet after scaling Mt Annapurna, Balwinder said: “ I know you all must be waiting for the tales of climbing Mount Annapurna. And this time the stories are even more incredible, but more than that there was a situation in which both life and death were seen standing face to face.

“To come out of Climbing Mount Annapurna successfully is not so easy, it was just so unbelievably hard, and now I have seen it too. I learned many of things from this expedition . We summited at 2:20pm. Due to bad weather, we clicked the photos very early and started the descent”.

“Sometimes the circumstances are so bad that if we give up at that time then everything falls apart, but if we have courage everything changes. Same thing happened this time also”.

“Thank you so much for supporting me.
Your support really matters to me. (Need your blessings for my new Expedition).
