The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has urged Indian nationals living in the Kingdom to remain vigilant and follow official safety advisories as tensions continue to escalate in West Asia amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

In a public advisory issued through its official communication channels, the embassy advised Indian citizens to strictly adhere to safety protocols issued by Saudi authorities and remain alert to developments in the region. The advisory comes against the backdrop of rising security concerns across the Gulf following recent drone and missile incidents linked to the widening regional conflict.

Saudi authorities recently confirmed that air defence systems intercepted and destroyed a drone over the Kingdom’s Eastern Province, highlighting the heightened security environment across the region. While the incident did not result in reported casualties or infrastructure damage, it has added to concerns about potential spillover effects from the broader conflict.

  • Despite the evolving situation, the Indian diplomatic mission clarified that its operations in Saudi Arabia remain fully functional

  • The Embassy of India in Riyadh, along with the Consulate General in Jeddah and outsourced visa services operated through VFS Global, continue to provide regular consular services to the Indian community

Officials also confirmed that consular outreach activities, including periodic consular camps aimed at assisting Indian expatriates, are continuing as scheduled. These initiatives provide services such as passport renewal, documentation support, and emergency assistance to the large Indian diaspora in the Kingdom.

Air travel between India and Saudi Arabia has also continued without major disruption. Saudi airlines are operating scheduled flights from Riyadh and Dammam to multiple Indian cities, while flights from Jeddah and Madinah are functioning normally. Indian airlines have also resumed regular operations from Riyadh, according to the embassy.

The advisory follows a similar communication issued earlier in March, when Indian authorities first cautioned nationals about regional security risks after tensions intensified between major powers in West Asia.

Saudi Arabia hosts one of the largest Indian expatriate populations in the world, with millions of Indian nationals working across sectors including construction, healthcare, engineering and services. The embassy has reiterated that it will continue monitoring the situation closely and provide timely updates to the community.
