Over 4 million Indians in UAE to mark India’s 76th Republic Day with cultural events and celebrations
Indian expats in the UAE celebrated India’s 76th Republic Day with grand cultural ceremonies on Sunday, January 26, showcasing the strong bilateral ties between India and the UAE, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies took place at the Indian Embassy and Consulate in Dubai, with diplomats delivering Republic Day messages. Community members and students also participated in cultural programme, while a mega blood donation camp organized in partnership with FOI Events.
The celebrations extended across Indian educational institutions in the UAE, with the Consul General attending a grand celebration at The Indian High School’s Oud Metha. Other diplomats also participated in flag-hoisting ceremonies organized by various Indian associations
January 26 marks India’s Republic Day, commemorating the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950.
Indian Ambassador to the UAE Sunjay Sudhir highlighted the importance of this occasion, emphasizing that over 4 million Indians have found their second home in the UAE. He also praised the UAE government’s support for the expat community.
The robust diplomatic ties between the two nations are bolstered by the strong personal connections between their citizens. With over 4.5 million Indian tourists visiting the UAE in 2023, the growing wave of tourism and cultural exchanges signals a bright future for the relationship.
