Court finds 58-year-old guilty of rape and molestation despite self-representation and medical defence
An Indian-origin shopkeeper in Singapore has been sentenced to 14 years, three months, and two weeks in prison after being found guilty of raping and molesting an 11-year-old girl, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
The sentencing was handed down by the Singapore High Court on Thursday
Ramalingam lured the girl with a free drink and later assaulted her inside his Jurong West shop in 2021. The convicted man, 58-year-old Ramalingam Selvasekaran, was found guilty on July 7 of one count of rape and two counts of outrage of modesty.
