The flights were scheduled to restart from September 1 but were delayed after the airport authorities could not set up Rapid PCR testing facilities required to enter many international destinations
Jaipur International Airport will see the resumption of flights to Dubai and other Gulf nations soon. The flights were scheduled to restart from September 1 but were delayed after the airport authorities could not set up Rapid PCR testing facilities required to enter many international destinations.
Now, Jaipur airport has a Rapid PCR testing facility. The order to start the flights comes after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) gave the green signal after a delay of more than two weeks. The resumption of flights will help thousands who regularly travel to the Gulf nations from Jaipur and were forced to travel from Delhi in the absence of a testing facility.
The Jaipur airport director, Jaideep S Balhara, said that airlines could start operations. “Rapid PCR testing facility is made available at Jaipur International Airport for departing international passengers from September 16. There was an issue with the Covid-19 testing facility, but now we have a proper testing system in place. We have apprised the airlines of the same,” the director said.

Passengers are mandatorily required to undergo a Rapid-PCR test six hours before departure, without which they are not allowed entry. The airport was first scheduled to commence the testing facility from August 27. Air India Express, SpiceJet and Air Arabia had announced flights to Dubai from Jaipur, which have been suspended since last year.
