At the recent ‘Kerala Week’ organized at the Dubai Expo, Kerala Tourism highlighted its products and services that it is offering to the Middle East market.

PA Mohamed Riyas, Kerala Tourism Minister said that with the pandemic slowly releasing its grip, the state was ready to welcome international tourists. Kerala, he said, was a perfect destination for wellness and rejuvenation holidays. In addition to houseboats for guests from the Middle East, the Minister said that the tourism department had reintroduced Caravan Tourism after around 30 years.

“The response to the registration process for setting up caravan parks has been overwhelming. So far, we have received as many as 78 registrations for caravan parks.”

“The Caravans will help the guests explore Kerala beyond the established destinations,” the Minister said. He also said that the unexplored region of Malabar was ready for tourists.

He also spoke about the investment opportunities awaiting investors from the region in Kerala’s varied sectors including Tourism. There was an investor-friendly institutional mechanism in the State that investors could depend on.

“About 297 potential investors have evinced interest in caravans and have registered for availing subsidy so far under the project. The construction of caravan parks is underway. The response to the registration process for setting up caravan parks has been overwhelming. So far, we have received as many as 78 registrations for caravan parks,” he said.
