India’s electronics manufacturing has seen significant growth, with exports and job creation skyrocketing in the last decade.
India’s electronics manufacturing industry has witnessed tremendous growth over the last decade, with both domestic production and exports reaching new heights, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Friday. According to Vaishnaw, driven by supportive policies and incentives, Made-in-India electronics are now gaining global recognition for their reliability and adherence to intellectual property (IP) rights, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.
India’s electronics manufacturing has seen a five-fold increase, with exports growing six times in the last decade, solidifying the country’s position in the global market.
Vaishnaw, who serves as the Minister for Electronics and IT, highlighted that electronics manufacturing in India has grown five times over the last ten years, reaching over Rs 11 lakh crore. Exports have also surged, growing six times to exceed Rs 3.3 lakh crore during this period. This rapid expansion has resulted in the creation of 25 lakh jobs, according to the minister.
The recognition of Made-in-India products in global markets has been largely driven by their reliability and the country’s strong commitment to IP rights. Vaishnaw also noted India’s growing capabilities in designing complex electronics products, ranging from AI-powered cameras and automotive electronics to telecom network equipment and power electronics. These advancements have contributed to positioning India as a key hub in the global electronics market.
