The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published a provisional list of Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates eligible to participate in the NEET PG 2025 stray vacancy counselling round. The notification was issued on 19 February 2026 and is available on the official MCC portal.

This list allows eligible candidates under the NRI quota to take part in the final phase of postgraduate medical seat allotment for the 2025–26 academic year. The MCC has also introduced a priority-based system to ensure fair and transparent distribution of seats during this round.

  • Under the new system, Priority 1 includes NRI candidates and their children. Priority 2 covers first- and second-degree relatives of NRI sponsors

  • Seats will be allocated first to Priority 1 candidates and then to Priority 2, depending on availability

  • The provisional list may be revised after final verification of documents and eligibility

Candidates can download the list by visiting the MCC website, navigating to the “News & Events” section, and opening the notice titled “Notice for NRI for Stray Vacancy Round of PG Counselling 2025–26 dated 19.02.2026.” They can search the PDF document for their roll number under the relevant priority category.

To confirm admission under the NRI quota, candidates must present original documents when reporting to the allotted medical college. These include proof of NRI status and a valid relationship certificate with the NRI sponsor, if applicable. Failure to produce the required documents may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

The stray vacancy round is conducted after multiple counselling rounds to fill remaining seats. A recent reduction in the qualifying cut-off has increased the number of eligible candidates, making this final round highly competitive
