Most Indian jobseekers searched for jobs in the US in 2020

It is no surprise that the US has turned out to be “the country” to go to for Indian jobseekers. With India well known as a leading exporter of skilled personnel in IT & software industries as well as technical roles, the US was the focus country.

The data pointed out that in 2018, Indians topped the list looking for jobs in the US: 72% in December 2018. The next year saw the searches going down

According to crossborder search data on Indeed for October 2020 points to the fact that 43% Indian jobseekers searched for jobs in the US. Canada was the next choice – 18 % — because of its immigration policies followed by Great Britain (17%), UAE (10%) and Australia (3%). Singapore came sixth in the list of countries with 2% of Indian jobseekers looking for opportunities there.

At 16%, India leads among countries searching for jobs in the US, followed by Canada (8%), Puerto Rico (7%), Great Britain (6%) and Mexico (5%).

The data pointed out that in 2018, Indians topped the list looking for jobs in the US: 72% in December 2018. The next year saw the searches going down. Even so, search for jobs was the lowest in 2020 despite the fact that there was a 44% increase in search activity in October 2020 over the same month in the previous year.

The top five jobs Indians sought in the US in October 2020 were:

Full Stack Developer (3%)

Java Developer (2.5%)

 

Development Ops Engineer (2%)

 

Software Engineer (2%)

 

Front End Developer (2%).
