Muscat-Dhaka Biman flight lands in Nagpur as pilot suffers heart attack

After due consultation, the flight was diverted to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport Nagpur where the flight did a safe landing. All the passengers were safe

A major disaster was averted as a Dhaka bound Biman Bangladesh flight from Muscat landed at the Nagpur airport after the flight pilot reportedly suffered heart attack mid-air.

Sources at the Nagpur airport said, the Boeing 737 aircraft was carrying 126 passengers. The flight was given immediate landing clearance at 11.45am on Friday soon after alarm raised by the flight operator.

The pilot was rushed to a local hospital soon after landing.

 

An alternative Biman Bangladesh aircraft from Dhaka was being arranged to take back the stranded passengers

 

The flight BG-22 was overflying the Indian state of Chhattisgarh when medical emergency happened. It contacted the Kolkata air traffic control (ATC) for priority landing.

After due consultation, the flight was diverted to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport Nagpur where the flight did a safe landing. All the passengers were safe.

According to the airport sources, the officials were in the process of arranging an alternative Biman Bangladesh aircraft from Dhaka to take back the stranded passengers.
