Music video aims to recognise the contribution of overseas Indians while strengthening emotional ties with the homeland
A new anthem dedicated to the global Indian diaspora was launched in New Delhi, celebrating the achievements and enduring connection of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) with their homeland. The initiative seeks to acknowledge the role played by overseas Indians in promoting India’s culture, economy and global reputation while fostering a stronger sense of belonging among diaspora communities.
The anthem, composed and produced by Yojana Sah Jain, was unveiled at a special event attended by members of the Indian diaspora, cultural figures and invited guests. Organisers described the project as a tribute to millions of Indians living abroad who continue to contribute to their adopted countries while maintaining close social, cultural and economic ties with India.
The accompanying music video showcases the diversity of the overseas Indian community, highlighting themes of identity, heritage and national pride. Through visuals and lyrics, it reflects the experiences of Indians settled across different regions of the world and emphasises their continued engagement with India’s development.
Speakers at the launch said the anthem is intended to serve as a cultural bridge between India and its global diaspora. They noted that overseas Indians have played a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations, boosting investment, promoting tourism and enhancing India’s international profile over the years
India has one of the world’s largest diaspora populations, with millions of people of Indian origin and NRIs living and working across the Gulf, North America, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Their contributions through remittances, entrepreneurship, education and cultural outreach continue to make them an important pillar of India’s global engagement.
The newly released anthem is expected to be shared widely across digital platforms, community organisations and diaspora events, offering a symbolic expression of the enduring bond between overseas Indians and their country of origin.
