NRI BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) Australia celebrated its 12th anniversary in Melbourne with a two-day event that brought together members of the Telugu community and supporters of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from across Australia.

The anniversary programme, led by NRI BRS Australia in-charge Anil Bireddy, was attended by party supporters, community members, women and young people. Several members of the Telugu diaspora also joined the organisation during the event.

Addressing the gathering, Bireddy said the organisation would continue expanding its activities across Australia in line with the guidance of BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). He said meetings and outreach programmes would be organised in more Australian cities to strengthen engagement with the Telugu diaspora and party supporters.

  • During the celebrations, organisers presented audio-visual material highlighting Telangana’s development during the previous BRS government and discussed political developments in the state

  • Speakers also urged supporters to counter what they described as misinformation about the Kaleshwaram irrigation project and encouraged greater awareness of electoral issues among overseas Telangana residents

Bireddy thanked BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Working President K.T. Rama Rao, senior leader T. Harish Rao, party members, volunteers and the Telugu community in Australia for their continued support over the past 12 years. He said the organisation remained committed to strengthening its network and maintaining regular engagement with Telangana-origin communities across the country.

Senior NRI BRS Australia leaders, including Ramesh Muthyala, Madhu Parsa, Rahul Nadide, Satya Gunda, Ravinder Chukka, Karthik, Kulwinder Gajuwa, Swapna, Priyanka and Madhu, along with representatives of various community organisations, were among those who attended the celebrations. Organisers said similar anniversary programmes are expected to be held in other Australian cities in the coming months as part of the organisation’s outreach efforts.
