NRI Summit to mark Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Mumbai on Jan. 9

The Indo-Arab Confederation Council is organising the Summit at Hotel Metropolis, Andheri West, under the auspices of Union Minister for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale

An NRI Summit has been scheduled for Sunday to mark Pravasi Bharatiya Divas which is celebrated globally on January 9.

To mark the occasion, the Indo-Arab Confederation Council is organising the Summit at Hotel Metropolis, Andheri West, under the auspices of Union Minister for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale.

 

The award for Best NRI Service will be given to Federal Bank, Mumbai, while the Global Excellence Award will be given to the general secretary of Budget Hotel Owners’ Association, V. K. Sainudheen, on the occasion. The awards will be presented by Devarkovil

 

At a media briefing Attakkoya Pallikkandy, General Secretary of the Council, said the Summit would see attendance of businessmen and dignitaries where some awards would be given to some individuals and organisations for their contribution to the NRI community.

“The award for Best NRI Service will be given to Federal Bank, Mumbai, while the Global Excellence Award will be given to the general secretary of Budget Hotel Owners’ Association, V. K. Sainudheen, on the occasion. The awards will be presented by Devarkovil,” said a report in Hindu newspaper.

The chief guest on the occasion will be State Minister for Ports and Museums Ahammad Devarkovil while Chairman of the Council, N.K. Bhupesh Babu will preside over it.The event will start at 5pm.

Economist Ghanshyam Chirankar will inaugurate a seminar on the occasion. Several diplomats, parliamentarians, legislators, industrialists, economists, and academicians are expected to take part in the event, the report said.
