Avdhoot Datar, a resident of Kalyan currently working in the United States, returned to India specifically to participate in the elections, only to face disappointment upon discovering his name missing from the voter list, Times of India reported.

Despite residing in America, Datar has made it a point to return to India for each election, driven by his admiration for the country’s development and the respect India commands internationally.

Upon his arrival, Datar visited at least six polling stations in an attempt to locate his name on the voter lists, but his efforts were in vain. Election officials informed him that his name had been deleted.

“When I visited the Area Returning Officer office at the Mumbai University Sub Centre, I found that many voters’ names were deleted from the lists,” TOI quoted Datar as saying.

He expressed his frustration and sadness, having traveled all the way from the US with the intention of contributing to the nation’s progress through his vote, only to be deprived of this opportunity.
