Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States from September 21-23, where he will participate in crucial global events, including the 4th Quad Summit and the United Nations’ “Summit of the Future.” The trip underscores India’s active role in shaping global discussions on regional security, sustainable development, and technological advancements.
On September 21, PM Modi will attend the Quad Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will also join the summit, which is expected to address significant global challenges like the Ukraine crisis and Indo-Pacific security.
Originally scheduled to be hosted by India, the Quad Summit will now take place in the US due to scheduling constraints. India has agreed to host the next Quad Summit in 2025.
PM Modi’s agenda on September 23 includes the UN’s “Summit of the Future” in New York, where global leaders will come together to forge new agreements on pressing issues. PM Modi will deliver a keynote address, emphasizing India’s vision for sustainable development and digital transformation
Key topics include strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and expanding the Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) program to improve monitoring of the Indian Ocean.
On September 22, PM Modi will engage with the Indian diaspora at a large community event in New York City, drawing over 24,000 attendees. He is also set to meet CEOs of major US companies to boost collaborations in advanced technology sectors like AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and biotechnology. This interaction highlights India’s focus on deepening economic and technological ties with the US.
