Investigators say the couple allegedly promised UK jobs, sponsorship certificates and visas to job seekers before going into hiding
Police in Andhra Pradesh have launched a search operation for a Guntur-origin couple settled in the United Kingdom who are accused of defrauding job seekers by promising employment opportunities and visas abroad.
The Ibrahimpatnam police, under the NTR Commissionerate, are investigating allegations that Jagarlamudi Madhukar and his wife, Anne Rama Nandana, misled several aspirants with assurances of jobs in the UK. The couple allegedly offered to arrange Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS), visas and employment placements in exchange for money.
According to investigators, the accused have been absconding for the past few months. Efforts are underway to trace their whereabouts and bring them before the law.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N.V.S.K. Durga Rao, who is leading the investigation, said police have intensified their search for the couple
“The couple has been absconding for the last few months and search has been launched for them,” he said
The couple, originally from Guntur district, moved to the United Kingdom several years ago. They later gained significant visibility on social media through their self-operated YouTube channel, Nandu’s World, which attracted a large following among Telugu-speaking audiences.
Police said the allegations surfaced after victims complained that they had been promised assistance in securing sponsorship certificates and employment opportunities in the UK. Investigators are examining financial transactions and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing probe.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have been affected by the alleged fraud to come forward and assist the investigation. Further details are expected to emerge as police continue efforts to locate the accused and determine the full extent of the alleged scam.
