Virtual sessions enable NRI Punjabis to address their grievances directly with government officials
The Punjab government’s online NRI Milnee program is successfully addressing the grievances of NRI Punjabis, with 256 out of 309 complaints resolved so far. The initiative allows NRIs to share concerns via video conferencing for prompt action, reported editorji.com.
The online platform ensures faster resolution by directly involving the NRI Affairs Minister and key officials.
Addressing NRI Grievances Online
The Punjab government has introduced online NRI Milnee sessions to provide a swift and efficient platform for NRI Punjabis to resolve their grievances.
These virtual meetings, held monthly, allow NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal to personally hear complaints and forward them to relevant departments for quick resolution.

Complaints Received and Resolved
In the third NRI Milnee, 109 grievances were registered—56 through email and 53 via WhatsApp. Of the 309 total complaints across the three online sessions, 256 have been successfully resolved. The remaining cases are under active review by Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in the concerned districts.
Minister Dhaliwal emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing NRI concerns efficiently and encouraged NRIs to actively participate in future online sessions.
Commitment to Swift Action
Prior to launching the online platform, nine NRI Milnees were conducted in offline mode. The transition to virtual meetings has enhanced accessibility and accelerated the resolution process, reinforcing the Punjab government’s dedication to serving its NRI community.
