Qatar foreign ministry secretary-general meets Indian ambassador in Doha to review bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest

Qatar and India have reviewed their bilateral cooperation and discussed ways to further strengthen ties during a meeting between senior diplomatic officials in Doha
Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met Dr K Srikar Reddy, Ambassador of India to Qatar, on Wednesday, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The two officials discussed cooperation between Qatar and India, including ways to support and enhance existing relations. They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, QNA reported.

The meeting comes as Qatar and India continue to maintain broad-based bilateral relations covering areas including trade, investment, energy, education and people-to-people ties

The Indian community in Qatar also remains an important part of the relationship between the two countries
No further details were provided on the specific issues discussed or on any new agreements or initiatives arising from the meeting.
Al Hammadi has held similar meetings with ambassadors of other countries in recent days as part of Qatar’s diplomatic engagements. On October 5, he met Norway’s non-resident ambassador, Olav Myklebust, to discuss bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest.
The latest Qatar-India meeting highlights the continued diplomatic engagement between Doha and New Delhi, with both sides reviewing existing cooperation and exploring avenues for further strengthening bilateral relations.
