Scindia for increase in widebody aircraft fleet

The Minister said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and the government was committed to nursing the aviation sector back to health and re-injecting growth

Union Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, held a virtual meeting with different airlines discussing a range of issues. Sharing details about the meeting on social media, the Minister said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and the government was committed to nursing the aviation sector back to health and re-injecting growth.

During the Airlines Advisory Group meeting with top heads of major airlines of the country, Scindia talked about plans for increasing widebody aircraft fleet in India apart from matters related to aircraft leasing alongside other regulatory issues. “Held a detailed discussion with the Airlines Advisory Group on issues ranging from increasing wide-body aircraft fleet,,,” he said in the tweet.

Ronojoy Dutta CEO, IndiGo and Ajay Singh, CMD, SpiceJet, and chiefs of other airlines were present during the meeting along with Rajiv Bansal, Secretary, MoCA. The Airlines Advisory Group constitutes chiefs of airline companies including Air India CMD Rajiv Bansal, IndiGo Promoter Rahul Bhatia, SpiceJet Chairman Ajay Singh, GoFIRST Director Ness Wadia, Vistara Chairman Bhaskar Bhat, and CEOs of AirAsia India and Alliance Air. The group also includes the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, MoCA Secretary, and Director General- Civil Aviation as members.
