Shares of SpiceJet plunged 6.4% as Singh offloaded a 0.89% stake amid ongoing corrections
Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet Ltd., sold a portion of his stake in the airline via block deals on Thursday, as per data from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) , reported cnbctv18.com.
₹52 Crore Stake Sold Amid Falling Share Prices
Singh offloaded 1.15 crore shares, representing 0.89% of SpiceJet’s total equity, at an average price of ₹45.34 per share, bringing the total transaction value to ₹52 crore
As per SpiceJet’s December 31, 2024, shareholding pattern, promoters collectively hold 29.13% in the airline. The division is as follows:
- Ajay Singh – 22.9%
- Ajay Singh HUF – 3.54%
- Kalpana Singh – 0.02%
- Spice Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. – 2.67%
SpiceJet Shares Decline 43% From 52-Week High
Following Singh’s stake sale, SpiceJet’s stock dropped 6.4% on Thursday, closing at ₹45.48. The airline’s shares have already fallen 43% from their 52-week high of ₹79.9 and have corrected 20% since the beginning of 2025.
