Party leaders urge the Indian diaspora to support Telangana’s investment agenda while endorsing Rahul Gandhi’s national leadership
The Telangana Congress used the 19th American Telugu Association (ATA) Convention in Baltimore, Maryland, to strengthen ties with the Indian diaspora, urging Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to contribute to the state’s development while also expressing support for Rahul Gandhi as a future Prime Minister.
Addressing members of the Telugu diaspora, senior Congress leaders highlighted the role of overseas Indians in Telangana’s economic and social progress. They appealed to NRIs to invest in the state, share professional expertise and participate in initiatives aimed at accelerating development.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the Telangana government was committed to creating an investor-friendly environment, assuring NRIs that proposals would receive timely approvals through a streamlined single-window system. He said the government would extend full support to industrial and social initiatives undertaken by the diaspora.

· Leaders highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including transport connectivity, urban development and industrial expansion, as part of efforts to position the state among India’s leading economic centres
Alongside the development agenda, Congress representatives appealed to overseas supporters to back Rahul Gandhi’s leadership at the national level, arguing that his vision aligned with inclusive growth, democratic values and social welfare. The political appeal formed part of the party’s outreach to the influential Telugu diaspora in the United States ahead of future electoral challenges.
The ATA Convention, one of the largest gatherings of the Telugu community in North America, regularly serves as a platform for discussions on investment, education, culture and public policy. Telangana leaders said continued engagement with the diaspora would help attract investment, strengthen global partnerships and deepen the state’s international connections.
