Fully vaccinated tourists from India can now travel to Canada via a third country. Fares for travel to Canada with a transit halt in a third country were comparatively cheaper as well.

They need to make a stopover in the third country, to undergo an RT-PCR test. Certain destinations in Middle East have recently opened up to Indian tourists. As a result, they can now transit from places like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Turkey too relaxed entry norms and did away with the 14-day mandatory quarantine for fully vaccinated Indian passengers.

Earlier Indians could transit via countries like Egypt and Mexico only.

The Government of Canada is prioritizing the health and safety of everyone in Canada. It is able to move forward with adjusted border measures. All travellers must use ArriveCAN (app or web portal) to submit their travel information.

To further support these new measures, Transport Canada is expanding the existing Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) scope that currently directs scheduled international commercial passenger flights into four Canadian Airports: Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Calgary International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.

From August 9, 2021, international flights carrying passengers were permitted to land at the following five additional Canadian airports: Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport, Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and Edmonton International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Government of Canada continues to advise Canadians to avoid non-essential travel outside of Canada.
