‘Yes, I Can’ movement takes centerstage at 10th annual PEAK conclave

The Plus Approach Foundation (PAF) successfully hosted its 10th Annual Conclave on Positive Thinking – PEAK 2024, themed ‘Yes, I Can: Positive India’, on September 14, 2024, at the India International Center, New Delhi.

The event gathered over 250 participants, including industry leaders, social reformers, media professionals, and literary figures, to discuss and propagate the power of positivity.

Curated and mentored by Dr. Ashutosh Karnatak, the event focused on the concept of ‘Prayas Ek Aur Kadam (PEAK)’—the point where individuals rise after failure and continue their journey toward their goals.

This year’s theme, “Yes, I Can”, highlighted the essence of positive thinking and its role in transforming the nation.

R. C. Gupta, Chairman of the Plus Approach Foundation, warmly welcomed dignitaries and participants, sharing PAF’s mission to foster positive thinking and sustainable development. He discussed the foundation’s flagship initiative, the Positive, Inspired, and Empowered (PIE) Village in Matela, Uttarakhand, showcasing how the initiative is driving social transformation in the region. Mr. Gulayni (conducted a Quiz, and Madhumita and Hena got the participants to sing the theme song “Hum Honge Kamyab” and chant the “Yes, I Can” slogan.

A key session on the “Perspective of Positive India – Kal, Aaj Aur Kal” was moderated by Dr. Karnatak. Renowned journalist Vinod Agnihotri delivered the keynote address, urging the younger generation to embrace hope and optimism as guiding principles for success.

Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director General of IILM, inspired the audience with stories of perseverance, including those of Edmund Hillary and Dashrath Manjhi, emphasizing that the impossible can be achieved with the right mindset.

 Ashok Kumar, VP-HR at HMEL, shared practical approaches to maintaining a positive mindset and the importance of sustainable habits in everyday life.

Gajendra Pathak, Mentor of the Matela (Almora) Centre, along with the Positive Inspired & Empowered team of Matela, shared their transformation experiences. The beneficiaries explained how their lives have changed due to the efforts of the Plus Approach Foundation, and they narrated how the positive transformation in the villages is now visible. He also thanked the Plus Approach Foundation for its support in the “Save the Jungle from Fire” initiative, which has become a model known as the “Shetlakhet Model,” duly recognized by the Government of Uttarakhand.

Dr. Karnatak introduced the groundbreaking concept of SDG(0), which emphasizes aligning people’s minds toward a common objective. He revealed that PAF is working toward getting this concept recognized by the United Nations as an enabler for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

PAF will encourage professionals and students to be ‘Positive Amabassasor – A changemaker’ of the foundation and have a signed Sansarino Development Foundation (SDF) of Hena Pandey as execution partner.

The conclave also witnessed the launch of “Positive India – Positive Transformation in 7 Days”, a booklet that outlines steps for fostering personal and societal growth, along with a special souvenir commemorating the 10th edition of the conclave.

Motivational speeches were delivered by Suvarna Raj, a National Award-winning para-athlete, who shared her personal journey of overcoming challenges, and Arun Gemini, a celebrated poet, whose humorous and uplifting poetry left the audience in fits of laughter.

As part of the event, PAF recognized the contributions of several individuals and organizations working for the upliftment of marginalized communities.

PEAK Social Service Awards were conferred upon Sarthak Pryas and NAB National Foundation for Blind Girls, and Yes I Can Achiever Awards were presented to Arun Singhal,  Anjana Tewari, and Vikas Negi.

Other awards included the Yes I Can Entrepreneurship Award and SDG(0)-Positive Ambassador Awards for individuals contributing to the foundation’s mission.  Manoj Sanwal and Dr. Hem Chand Kandpal were awarded under this category.

SK Shahi Memorial Awards went to CSRL students Ananta Murai Dewri and Barkha Doley which consisted of Rs 25000, trophy and certificate.

Vineeta Bist, Paritosh, Pradip Hazarika, Kaushlendra S Singh, Vandana Jyotirmayee, Deep Jyoti, Kishor Sirioskar, Dr Barada Prasad and Ravi Agrawal were felicitated with SDG(0)- Positive Ambassador Award.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by S K Ghulyani (Secretary), followed by a luncheon.
