मैं इसे अपना सौभाग्य मानता हूँ कि मैं बिहार में उन चीजों का अनुभव कर पा रहा हूँ जो शायद आने वाले समय में विलुप्त हो जाए
सन 1957 में एक फ़िल्म आई थी ‘नया दौर’, जिसमें दिलीप कुमार और वैजयंती माला ने मुख्य भूमिका अदा की थी। फ़िल्म एक बहुत बड़ी हिट थी और इसके गाने लोग आज भी बहुतचाव से सुनते हैं हालाँकि इस फ़िल्म की कहानी बहुत ही प्रतिगामी (regressive) थी।
इस कहानी में घोड़ागाड़ी और बस की प्रतिस्पर्धा होती है जिसमें घोड़ागाड़ी जीत जाती है। कहते हैं कि इस फ़िल्म में अपने बस की दुर्दशा देखकर बस बनाने वाली कंपनी के मालिक नेदुखी होकर उस लॉट की सारी बसों को समुद्र में विसर्जित करने का आदेश दे दिया था। यह जिम्मेदारी बिहार के कोशी क्षेत्र के एक प्रबंधक को दी गई थी।
उसने बसों को विसर्जित करने की जगह उन्हें अपने गृह क्षेत्र भेज दिया और इस प्रकार कोसी क्षेत्र को पहली बस सेवा मिली। देश BS7 पर चला गया है पर 1957 की वे बसें कोशी क्षेत्रमें अब भी चल रही हैं। आजकल मेरी यात्रा उन्हीं बसों में हो रही है। बुजुर्गों के प्रति सम्मान दिखाने में बिहार आज भी बहुत आगे है और यही कारण है कि वे बसें जो म्यूजियम में भीपुरानी बसों की श्रेणी में आती वे आज भी सड़क पर हैं।
इस बस की यात्रा में आप वो पुरातन आनंद पा सकें इसके लिए बिहार सरकार ने कुछ सड़कों को जानबूझकर टूटा हुआ छोड़ दिया है। मैं इसे अपना सौभाग्य मानता हूँ कि मैं बिहार मेंउन चीजों का अनुभव कर पा रहा हूँ जो शायद आने वाले समय में विलुप्त हो जाए लेकिन बुजुर्गों का आदर करते भतीजे और छोटों को स्नेह करते चाचा निकट भविष्य में शायद ही ऐसाहोने दें।
