Leading Indian diaspora organisation Federation of Indian Associations – New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, will unfurl the biggest tricolor at the famous Times Square in New York on August 15 to mark the 75th Independence Day of India.

The diaspora organisation has planned some special events marking the day. There will be an India Day billboard displayed for 24 hours at Times Square.

Empire State Building, a landmark 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, will be lit in the colours of the Indian tricolour.
There will be a huge gathering of Indian-American community, top government officials, and special guests at a cruise on the Hudson River.

Every year the FIA organises, India Day Parade, a flagship event on the occasion of India’s Independence Day. The parade, however, has been postponed this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year also there was no India Day Parade due to Covid-19.
