MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has announced that the bank will continue to accept applications for the 2023 edition of its landmark Green Sports programme till February 18, 2023.

As in previous years, in 2023 too, 20 sports teams from different governorates will be provided support in one of the four categories available, including greening of football fields with natural grass, synthetic turf, installation of floodlights and water desalination equipment.

The aim of the long running programme is to help provide suitable infrastructure that can help Omani youth develop their talents, create local community bonding and contribute to the socio-economic development of the Sultanate.

Green Sports has brought about a tremendous positive change in Oman’s sports infrastructure since its launch in 2012 and benefitted Omani youth teams across different governorates in Oman.

Keeping in mind the importance of submission of all the required documents, the bank has requested all youth teams who would like to apply for Green Sports support to submit their applications through the link specified below, well ahead of the deadline.

Teams should go to: https://techgurusales.com/greensports/green-stadium-participation-form-terms.aspx and complete the application form electronically using a computer, a tablet or a mobile phone.

All applicants should be able to showcase their positive impact and contributions to the local community. In case of any queries or doubts on the submission process, teams may email GreenSports@bankmuscat.com, or call 24801200/24801625 for more details.

The landmark Green Sports Programme is one of Bank Muscat’s CSR initiatives, which draws from the values of leadership and partnership so as to create a positive impact on Omani society. The programme aims to develop and provide a sustainable infrastructure for sports fields in Oman.

The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by local communities, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people.

It is a matter of great encouragement that Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme has so far benefitted 163 teams with over 50,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman and with yet another 20 teams to be added this year.

In the past few months, the bank has seen the inauguration of more Green Sports fields across Oman with more expected to be completed in the coming months.

Bank Muscat has been well recognised in the past with many local and regional awards for its pioneering efforts in CSR and sustainability , including being honoured by the Ministry of Social Development.

Earlier in 2021, the bank was honoured by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has also won the Middle East Award for Sustainability from EMEA Finance.
