Renowned Ghazal and Sufi singer Mohammed Vakil presented patriotic songs at an event in Jaipur to mark the 77th Independence Day of India.
He sang some songs like ‘Bharat Humko Jaan Se Pyara Hai’; ‘E Vatan Vatan Mere Aabaad Rahe Tu’, ‘Kar Chale Hum Fida’, etc.
He also presented some Sufi melodies and ghazals like ‘Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana’; “Maula Mere Le Le Meri Jaan’; ‘Deewaren Uthana To Har Yug Ki Siyasat Hai’; ‘Wo Chandni Ka Badan Khushbuon Ka Saaya Hai’; ‘Ye Kasak’ and many others.
His renditions mesmerised the audience with his soulful voice, wit and spontaneity at the event organised by Rajasthan Art & Culture and Ravindra Manch.
He and his accompanists created a wonderful atmosphere for the audience with the ‘Vatan Pe Jo Fida Hoga Amar Vo Naujawan Hoga” song.
The event also marked the 60th anniversary (Hirak Jayanti Utsav) of Ravindra Manch, Jaipur.
In earlier events, Mohammed Vakil was honoured at the Indian Embassy in Birmingham (UK) and in Muscat, the capital of Oman, where he was awarded the Pride of India
“Mohammed Vakil, who is the country’s famous ghazal singer, awakened the spirit of patriotism on the 77th anniversary of India’s Independence with the presentation of patriotic songs and ghazals like ‘Har Karam Apna Karenge Ae Watan Tere Liye’; ‘Watan Pe Jo Fida Hoga’; ‘Deewarein Uthana To Har Yug Ki Siyasat Hai’; and Sufi songs Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana, Qawwali of Veer – Zaara movie, Kesariya Balam, ghazal ‘Wo Chandni Sa Badan’ etc.”
