Indian Embassy in Oman gears up for International Yoga Day

Recognized by the United Nations since December 11, 2014, as a day dedicated to yoga, the Embassy has consistently organized vibrant events on this occasion, drawing participants from various nationalities residing in Oman

The Indian Embassy in Oman is actively preparing for the International Day of Yoga, celebrated annually on June 21. To kickstart the festivities, an inaugural session is scheduled for April 19 at 6 am at the Embassy premises. Recognized by the United Nations since December 11, 2014, as a day dedicated to yoga, the Embassy has consistently organized vibrant events on this occasion, drawing participants from various nationalities residing in Oman.

 

As anticipation builds for the upcoming International Yoga Day event on June 21, the Embassy is confident in its preparedness, boasting a skilled team ready to lead yoga sessions and train others

 

Since the UN’s declaration, the Embassy has orchestrated elaborate celebrations on June 21, featuring multi-national participants engaging in yoga practices guided by expert instructors. In a bid to sustain the enthusiasm for yoga throughout the year, the Embassy has a full-time yoga teacher who conducts both online and offline classes on a daily and weekly basis.

Expressing delight at the growing interest in yoga among Oman’s diverse communities, Acharya Manoranjan, the Embassy’s Yoga teacher, noted a significant rise in attendance, with individuals from numerous backgrounds, including Omani nationals, actively participating in the sessions.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming International Yoga Day event on June 21, the Embassy is confident in its preparedness, boasting a skilled team ready to lead yoga sessions and train others. With strong community support expected, the Embassy anticipates a substantial turnout for this year’s celebrations.
